Give from Your IRA
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD), also called an IRA charitable rollover, allows individuals aged 70½ or older to donate to charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.
For many, giving this way makes more tax sense than giving cash or securities:
You’re already required to withdraw. Required Minimum Distributions must be taken each year and count as taxable income.
Your gift can count as your RMD. Sending part or all of your RMD to Sacred Mountain Sangha as a QCD meets the requirement.
It lowers your taxable income. The amount you give isn’t taxed, and you don’t need to itemize deductions to benefit.
